The Augusta County Board of Supervisors announced on Tuesday the retirement of County Attorney Pat Morgan.
Morgan had served as the County Attorney since March 2008. During his tenure he provided legal expertise in all areas of government. He served as a municipal attorney in other localities in Virginia before joining Augusta County.
Carolyn Bragg, Chairman of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors, noted “that his contributions throughout the years have been appreciated. The Board wishes him well in his retirement.”
The County Attorney serves as legal counsel for the Board of Supervisors. An interim attorney will be appointed to fulfill the vacant position until a permanent replacement is hired. The search to fill the position will begin this fall.
