Anderson, Jason MichaelThe Waynesboro Police Department arrested a man early this morning after an argument between his girlfriend and him turn violent in the latest case of felony domestic violence in the city.  Officers charged Jason Michael Anderson, 32 years old of no fixed address, with felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery on family or household member.

Just after midnight, the Waynesboro Emergency Operations Center received a 911 call from a cell phone. The caller on the line did not identify herself or her location but the EOC telecommunicator could hear a female in the background indicating that she had been choked.  An officer called the victim back and he was able to determine that she was at the Budget Inn, 2240 West Main Street, and that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.

The officer met with both the 33-year-old victim and Anderson in their room.  The officers noticed the victim had marks on her face, neck and chest that were indicative of being assaulted.  She told the officer that Anderson and she had an argument and he punched and scratched her in the face.  He also choked her with both hands.  The officer arrested Anderson at the scene.

He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
