george masonThe George Mason University men’s basketball program has released its 2018-19 conference schedule, which includes nine games on national television and home contests against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams Davidson and St. Bonaventure.

In addition, Mason will host rivalry games with VCU, George Washington and Richmond inside EagleBank Arena. Mason’s home/away partners include the Rams, Colonials and Spiders, as well as St. Bonaventure and Massachusetts.

The Patriots begin A-10 play on the road with a contest at Saint Joseph’s on Thursday, January 3. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. The Patriots won both regular season contests at the buzzer against the Hawks in 2017-18.

The Patriots then return to the DMV for a pair of contests inside EagleBank Arena. St. Bonaventure comes to Fairfax on January 6, in a 4 p.m. game televised nationally on NBC Sports Network.

The Green & Gold will remain at home to battle 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament champion Davidson on January 9.

The Patriots will then head north for a two-game road swing through New England. The trip begins with a contest at Rhode Island, the 2018 Atlantic 10 regular season champion. The 5:30 p.m. game on January 13 will be televised across the country on NBC Sports Network.

Mason wraps up that trip with a contest at Massachusetts on Wednesday, January 16.

The Patriots host Fordham at home on January 19 then travel to one of the nation’s toughest road venues – UD Arena – for a contest at Dayton on January 23.

From there, Mason heads back to the DMV for a pair of rivalry games. The Green & Gold reignite the Revolutionary Rivalry with George Washington on January 26 inside EagleBank Arena. The Patriots then play at VCU on February 2 at 6:30 p.m. That game at VCU will be televised on NBC Sports Network.

After a February 6 road game at Richmond, Mason hosts a two-game homestand with contests against La Salle (February 10) and Massachusetts (February 13).

Mason invades Olean for the return game with St. Bonaventure on February 17 (televised on Stadium), before hosting Duquesne and Richmond on February 23 and February 27, respectively.

The Patriots head west for an NBC Sports Network-televised game at Saint Louis on March 2 (3 p.m.) before returning to the DMV for the final two games of the regular season.

Mason hosts VCU on March 5, then wraps up with a Saturday contest at George Washington on March 9.

The 2019 A-10 Championship at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., will be held from March 13-17.

Potential additional regionally televised games will be announced at a later date. So far, the Patriots are scheduled to appear on national TV 11 times.

About the Patriots

George Mason is the only team in the nation which returns 100 percent of its scoring output from the 2017-18 campaign. Mason welcomes back every student-athlete from a team that placed fifth in the Atlantic 10. That finish marked Mason’s best in its five-year tenure in the league. The Patriots will be led by 2018 All-Atlantic 10 second team selection Otis Livingston II, who is one of just five Div. I players returning who has posted at least 1,400 points, 350 assists and 250 rebounds in a career.

In addition to welcoming back all five 2017-18 starters, the Patriots also will add former University of Virginia forward Jarred Reuter (Marion, Mass.), as well as a recruiting class that features guards Jason Douglas-Stanley (Mount Vernon, N.Y.), Jamal Hartwell II (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Jordan Miller (Purcellville, Va.).
