Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: April 8-12

The following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(NEW) Route 6 (Irish Road) – Tree trimming operations between Route 715 (Chestnut Grove Road) and Route 626 (Langhorne Road). Alternating lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 20 (Stony Point Road) – Bank stabilization work between Route 1765 (Elk Drive) and Route 1493 (Franklin Drive). Right shoulder closed. Be alert for workers near travel lanes Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Signal work at Route 643 (Polo Grounds Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29/250 Bypass – Sign work on northbound exit ramp to Route 250 (Ivy Road). Exit ramp to Route 250 closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Use alternate routes.

(NEW) Business Route 250 (Ivy Road) – Blasting operations under VDOT permit. Expect brief, intermittent road closures between the ramp to Route 29/250 and the Charlottesville City limits Tuesday through Friday at approximately 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily for the next four weeks.

Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Signal work at Route 1417 (Woodbrook Drive). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 635 (Miller School Road) – Resurfacing operations between Route 692 (Plank Road) and Route 637 (Dick Woods Road). Alternating lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 692 (Plank Road) – Resurfacing operations between Route 635 (Millers School Road) and Route 814 (Drovers Lane). Alternating lane closures controlled by flagging Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Route 692 (Plank Road) – Resurfacing operations between Route 29 (Monacan Trail) and Route 712 (North Gardens Lane). Alternating lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 745 (Arrowhead Valley Road) – Work on bridge over Moores Creek. Road closed to through traffic Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 1418 (Brookmere Road) – Resurfacing operations from Route 1415 (Idlewood Drive) to the other connection with Route 1415. Alternating lane closures Monday through Friday.

(NEW) Route 1455 (Whitewood Road) – Resurfacing operations from Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) to Route 866 (Greenbrier Drive). Alternating lane closures Monday through Friday.

Route 1521 (Timberwood Parkway) – Hollymead Dam Reinforcement Project. Northbound lane closed under VDOT permit from Shadybrook Trail to Cove Pointe Road. Follow signed detour.

Culpeper County

Route 633 (Alum Springs Road) – Resurfacing operations from Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) and Route 632 (Dutch Hollow Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 643 (South Merrimac Road) – Resurfacing operations from Route 29 (James Monroe Highway) to Route 603 (White Shop Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 780 (Review Road) – Resurfacing operations between Route 762 (Brandy Road) to the dead end. Alternating lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fauquier County

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Guardrail repairs at mile marker 33. Right shoulder closed. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 15/17/29 (Eastern Bypass) – Construction of grade-separated interchange near Route 880 (Lord Fairfax Road):

· Expect shoulder closures in both directions Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

· Starting April 4 and continuing intermittently for the next three weeks, the inside left turn lane from northbound Route 15/17/29 to northbound Business Route 15/17/29 will be closed during the day. The right lane on Business Route 15/17/29 will also be closed. Drivers using the exit from southbound Route 15/17/29 to northbound Business Route 15/17/29 should also pay attention to traffic controls. All lanes will be open during the morning and afternoon rush hours. The work will take place during off-peak travel times.

(NEW) Route 29 (James Madison Highway) – Litter control operations between Route 687 (Opal Road) and Route 643 (Meetze Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Route 600 (Broad Run Church Road) – Preparation for resurfacing operations. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 603 (Greenwich Road) – Preparation for resurfacing operations from Route 605 (Dumfries Road) and the Prince William County line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 610 (Midland Road) – Paving operations between Route 648 (Ebenezer Church Road) and Route 806 (Elk Run Road). Alternating lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 643 (Eustace Road) – Construction of temporary road over Licking Run for bridge project. Expect intermittent lane closures on Route 643 for material and equipment delivery Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 656 (Remington Road) – Resurfacing operations from Route 1203 (Franklin Street) to Route 853 (Station Drive). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 880 (Lord Fairfax Road) – Shoulder closures in both directions near Route 15/17/29 (Eastern Bypass) for Warrenton Southern Interchange project. Expect intermittent flagging operations for material and equipment delivery at construction office. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 1006 (Salem Avenue) – Utility work under VDOT permit between Route 710 (Rectortown Road) and Route 1003 (Frost Street). Road closed to through traffic Tuesday. Use alternate routes.

Fluvanna County

Route 629 (Deep Creek Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Middle Fork Kent Branch near Route 631 (Dogwood Drive). Road closed to through traffic. Follow signed detour. Anticipated completion Oct. 2019.

Greene County

(NEW) Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) – Resurfacing operations between Route 625 (Goose Pond Road) and Route 638 (Turkey Ridge Road). Expect alternating lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Louisa County

(NEW) Route 695 (Hamilton Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Hudson Creek. Road reduced to one lane controlled by flagging Monday through Thursday.

Orange County

Route 3 (Germanna Highway) – Intersection improvements at Route 20 (Constitution Highway). Right shoulder closed. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 611 (Raccoon Ford Road) – Stream bank stabilization. Road closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday between Route 522 (Zachary Taylor Highway) and Route 663 (True Blue Road).

Rappahannock County

Route 211 (Lee Highway) – Mobile debris removal operations from Page County line to the Culpeper County line. Right lane and right shoulder closed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Route 211/522 (Lee Highway) – Westbound bridge replacement over the North Fork Thornton River. Westbound bridge closed to traffic. Follow temporary traffic pattern. Westbound traffic will use eastbound left lane. Anticipated completion July 2019.

Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Pipe replacement between Route 675 (Old Massies Corner Road) and Route 647 (Crest Hill Road). Alternating lane closures Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
