Baltimore powers past Yankees, 9-4

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesBaltimore hit three home runs, and a 15-hit attack propelled the O’s to a 9-4 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday, extending their winning streak to six games.

Nolan Reimold and Manny Machado each hit two-run homers off Yankees starter C.C. Sabathia, and David Lough hit a seventh-inning solo shot off Sergio Santos.

Sabathia got a no-decision, giving up four runs on eight hits in five innings of work. Chris Martin (0-2) took the loss in relief, giving up three runs on four hits in an inning.

Chaz Roe (2-0) got the win for the Orioles in relief, giving up three hits in two scoreless innings.

Starter Bud Norris went five innings, giving up four runs on eight hits, striking out five without walking a batter.

The win moves the O’s (31-30) to two games back of New York in the National League East.
