UVA lacrosse news: Matt Barrett suspended for 2017 season

virginia lacrosseUVA men’s lacrosse head coach Lars Tiffany announced Friday, Nov. 11 that senior goalie Matt Barrett has been suspended for the 2017 season due to violation of athletics department policy.

Barrett (Sr., Glenmoore, Pa.) has started each of the 46 career games he’s played at Virginia. He owns a 27-19 career record between the pipes and his 469 career saves rank No. 9 all-time in the UVA record books.

Barrett was a 2015 USILA second-team All-American and a 2015 All-ACC honoree.
