Seven proven ways to increase your used car dealership sales

The used car market is a fierce one. With all the new mediums available to sell used cars, both as private sellers and used car dealerships, it is difficult to know what the best practices are to increase your used car sales versus when you are just wasting time and money spinning your tires on things that won’t work. In the current age of technology, it is easy to get caught up thinking that the only thing that works anymore is digital or social media and forego the traditional advertising methods. But the reality is that you need a good mixture of both to devise a successful marketing campaign.

Social media

Yes, there is no doubt that social media is a proven way to increase your used car sales. Things like Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest are all excellent ways to reach your target audience. They allow you to speak directly to the consumer and provide them with enough of a tease through photos to come to your dealership and take a look. The best way to approach social media is to use all mediums possible. The more exposure you have, the more car buyers you will reach – period. The best part is that most ads on social media are free, so there is no money wasted – maybe just some of your time.

Provide incentives or giveaways

Who doesn’t want something for free? If you want to increase used car sales, you have to get car buyers in the door. Offer free car washes, a gift card for lunch, or an oil change just for coming in and taking a test drive. If someone does purchase a car from you, offer incentives like free oil changes for a year. People will feel loyalty to your dealership if you give them something for nothing.

Hold events

To gain more exposure, hold events at the dealership. Since the community surrounding your place of business is primarily where your clients are coming from, you will want to build connections with those close by. If you hold special events, then you are attracting people who may or may not even know they want a used car until they walk in the door.

Give back to the community

If you want to increase your presence, give back. Charity is an excellent way to build goodwill and trust with the community. If you sponsor a Little League team, help out a local family who needs aid by donating a free car raffle or reach out in other ways, you are creating a positive feeling toward your dealership, which can make it likely that people will come to yours over someone else’s dealership.

Slogans

Slogans still work. Do you remember when you were a child and a catchy jingle came on and played over and again in your head? A slogan can do that, or it can be a tool to define who you are as an organization. If you use the right descriptive words, your slogan can be your best advertising to tell people who you are and what you stand for.

Word of mouth

Word of mouth is still very valuable in today’s society. It takes a whole lot to get positive feedback and very little to get negative. If you want used car buyers to know who you are, ask those who have dealt with your company to write a review concerning their experience. Reviews are highly valuable, especially when they are posted online. Online reviews are like word of mouth – only they spread like wildfire.

Apps

People love apps. Mobile apps cut to the chase and don’t make people fumble around for what they want. If you want to increase sales, make sure that you are on all the large-scale car-buying mobile apps, and build one for your website as well. Buyers want a condensed version and someone to spell things out for them quickly, so give them what they want.

You can throw out a large net and hope that something gets caught, or you can throw out a net where you know you will catch fish. If you want to increase your Langley used car dealership sales the best way to do so is to use a mixture of digital marketing, traditional marketing, and value-added building through customer goodwill and loyalty.
