UVA basketball Meet the Team Day set for Oct. 5

uva-logo-new2The UVA men’s and women’s basketball programs will hold a Meet the Team event and open house on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 4-5:30 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.

The Meet the Team event, which also includes the UVa wrestling program, is open to the public and admission and parking is free. Fans will have an opportunity to meet and get autographs from the student-athletes, tour the practice courts, locker rooms, weight room, a luxury suite and the video services office at JPJ.

Both teams will hold practices open exclusively to season ticket holders. Season ticket holders will receive an invitation to the event by email.

Fans may also meet Virginia men’s basketball players inside Scott Stadium’s entrances before the start of the Saturday’s UVa-Kent State football game.


Men’s Basketball Ticket Information

Men’s basketball season tickets remain on sale. There are three available upper level price levels for season ticket holders: $176, $230 and $466. UVa faculty and staff may purchase up to four season tickets at an additional 20 percent discount. There is a donation requirement to the Virginia Athletics Foundation for seats in select upper level areas.

Single-game men’s basketball tickets go on sale to the public online at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10 with phone and window sales beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13. Season ticket holders and Virginia Athletics Foundation donors will have an opportunity to purchase single-game tickets in advance of the public beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The Virginia men’s basketball team opens the season at JMU on Nov. 14.  The Cavaliers’ first home game is against Norfolk State on Nov. 16.


Women’s Basketball Ticket Information

Women’s basketball season tickets are also on sale. All lower level seats in John Paul Jones Arena are reserved for women’s basketball games with the exception of the bleacher seats (sections 116-119) and section 108. Section 108 will be reserved for UVA Health System Hoos members during the season. Reserved season tickets are $100, while reserved season tickets for youth, seniors, and UVa faculty and staff are $75. General admission season tickets are $85, $65 for youth, seniors, and UVa faculty and staff. General admission seating is available in the lower level bleachers and in any upper level section. Women’s basketball single-game tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 26.

The Virginia women’s basketball team opens the season at home against Ohio State on Nov. 14.

Tickets can be purchased online at VirginiaSports.com. In-person or telephone purchases can be made by calling 1-800-542-UVA1 (8821) or locally at 434-924-UVA1 (8821) or in-person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium.
