The return of Winners and Losers …

Winners and Losers column by Chris Graham

LOSER: Waynesboro about to lose its mayor
Tom Reynolds announced his retirement effective June 30 from Waynesboro City Council.
Reynolds was instrumental in having the city council think long-range – to his own detriment, if you judge the controversy that foes of his forward thinking raised in the past couple of years in that light, anyway.
I think a pat on the back is deserved – and I also think that Waynesboro will be hard-pressed to find another one like him to fill his shoes as mayor.
ASCENDING: Reynolds’ conservative foes in Waynesboro
HOLDING PATTERN: Reynolds’ progressive allies, Nancy Dowdy and Lorie Smith

PUSH: KBR backs out of I-81 negotiations
We’re supposed to think that this is the end of the New Jersey Turnpike in the Valley, but …
The only thing that has changed, really, is that it’s not Star Solutions that will pave over our greenspaces.
ASCENDING: KBR (for gettin’ while the gettin’ was good)
DESCENDING: Hopes of getting I-81 congestion issues dealt with any time soon
