Staunton firefighters to aid MDA

Contributors

The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local #3468 in Staunton will be on the intersection of Richmond Road and Greenville Avenue on Wednesday, Sept. 2 for the first day of the annual Fill-the-Boot fundraising campaign in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The Staunton Fill-the-Boot will continue until Friday. Sept. 4.

Committed to the eradication of neuromuscular diseases, the IAFF has been a friend and supporter of MDA through the Fill-the-Boot campaign since 1954. The Staunton fire fighters have participated in the Fill-the-Boot campaign in years past and MDA is excited to have them back “on the streets” this year! Their goal is to raise $5,000 over the three days.

Funds raised by Local #3468 support local MDA services by providing clinic services, support groups, research, helping with the purchase of orthopedic equipment and repairs, and providing a week-long session of summer camp for children age 6 to 17.

Nationwide, the IAFF has raised over $300 million to help Jerry’s Kids since 1954.
