Toronto hammered Taylor Jordan, and Mark Buehrle had little trouble in a complete-game effort in an 8-0 shutout of Washington on Wednesday night.
Buehrle (7-4) gave six hits and a walk, striking out two, in an economical effort that saw him throw 93 pitches, 66 for strikes.
Jordan (0-2) gave up four runs in the first before lasting into the sixth, giving up seven runs on 10 hits, striking out four and walking one.
The loss was the fifth in the last six games for the Nationals (29-24), who at this writing are in a tie for first place in the National League East with the New York Mets.
