SPCA, News Virginian sponsor Bark in the Park Night July 21

Man’s best friends will be among the fans rooting on the Waynesboro Generals in their regular-season home finale Saturday night, July 21.

The News Virginian and the Augusta Regional SPCA are teaming up to bring us Bark in the Park Night, which will give you the chance to bring your pooch out to the ballpark to take in some Valley League baseball and maybe, just maybe, add another member to your family before it’s all said and done.

Twenty dogs from the SPCA currently up for adoption will be on hand at Mathers Park at Kate Collins Field for Bark in the Park Night, and a few lucky dogs among them will get the chance to run onto the field with Generals players during the pregame introductions.

The Generals will provide community water bowls for our canine fans, and the News Virginian tent will feature a variety of doggie treats.

Fans will also have the opportunity to enter their dogs in fun competitions, including:

Inning 2: Biggest Baseball Fan
Inning 3: Friendliest Dog
Inning 4: Big Dog
Inning 5: Small Dog

Free admission tickets will be available in the Saturday News Virginian.
