The Virginia Department of Transportation invites owners of small businesses to attend one of three upcoming events to learn about becoming a vendor for VDOT and other state agencies. The open houses are scheduled as follows:
Thursday, July 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.
VDOT Charlottesville Residency, 701 VDOT Way, Charlottesville
Thursday, July 21 from 1 to 4 p.m.
VDOT Louisa Residency, 3709 Davis Highway, Louisa
Tuesday, July 26 from 1 to 4 p.m.
VDOT Warrenton Residency, 457 East Shirley Avenue, Warrenton
Owners of small businesses will learn how to enroll with and get the most out of the eVA electronic procurement system, and the state’s small, women-owned and minority-owned (SWaM) business certification program. These steps are essential to doing business with Virginia state agencies.
Each year, VDOT’s Culpeper District strives to make at least 42 percent of its purchases with locally-owned businesses, in categories ranging from office supplies to gravel to custodial work. The district also employs local vendors on a seasonal basis to enhance its snow removal operations.
Those interested in the event should contact Donna Backe, Culpeper District Procurement Manager, at [email protected] to confirm attendance.
