UVA Football: Friday, Sept. 11 is Paint the Town Orange

uva-logo-new2Virginia fans are encouraged to wear orange and blue to support “Paint the Town Orange” on Friday, Sept. 11. The annual “Paint the Town Orange” Pep Rally will be held that night at the Charlottesville Downtown Pavilion at 8:30 p.m. The Virginia football team plays its first home game of the 2015 season on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Scott Stadium against Notre Dame. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

The Cavalier spirit squads will be on the Downtown Mall starting at 6 p.m. distributing promotional items and greeting fans. The Cavalier Marching Band will march from the west end of the Downtown Mall to the pavilion at approximately 8 p.m. The pep rally will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. with appearances by head football coach Mike London and the 2015 Virginia football captains.

“We’re excited to celebrate the kickoff of another year of Virginia athletics with the community,” said Todd Goodale, UVa associate athletics director for external affairs. “Paint the Town Orange has become a great Charlottesville tradition over the past 25 years and we’re always excited to see the great turnout on the Downtown Mall.”
