richard adamsAs always Richard Adams has gathered an eclectic array of talent for his March Variety Show.  Vocal sensationJanet Rose Campbell and Bryan Elijah Smith join Hula Hooper Arrow and the Stonewall Brigade Band Tuba Choir  to make this month’s The Richard Adams Variety Show a must see. . . and hear event.  The performance is Friday, March 8 at 7:30 pm.  The performance is at WTA’s Gateway, 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro.

Janet Rose Campbell will make her Gateway debut with the Variety Show.  Janet is a singer writer form Lynchburg, Virginia, whose syndicated radio program is featured on twenty-nine stations.  She travels regularly as a motivational speaker and singer at women’s conferences and retreats.  Her music is a marrying of her country roots with a variety of other music genres.  Janet explains, “I follow Miles Davis who said ‘Good music is good, no matter what kind of music it is.’”

Bryan Elijah Smith is a popular Gateway performer. He and his band Bryan Elijah Smith and the Wild Hearts were one of the first groups to appear at WTA’s Gateway.  As a soloist, Smith has opened for such acts as Nathan Moore, The Barr Brothers and Corey Smith. He has a catalog of over 500 original songs and has released 7 full length albums since October 2009.  Bryan has performed up and down the entire East Coast as well as in Roatan Honduras. He has recently returned from Australia.  This will be his first appearance as a soloist on the Richard Adams Variety Show.

Arrow Kilbourn has amazed Variety Show audiences in the past with her skills with the hula hoop.  This month she will dazzle the audience by performing to the music of local dance composer Aaron Barmer.  Besides performing her magic as a hoop dancer, Arrow is a builder of custom-made hula hoops.

Rounding out the night is the Stonewall Brigade Band Tuba Choir.  The choir is part of the Stonewall Brigade Band, the nation’s oldest continuous community band sponsored by local government and funded by tax monies. Initially formed as a brass band, it has grown and changed into a community concert band averaging 70-80 playing members. Tuba Choir is a subset of the illustrious band and showcases the tuba repertory.  Needless to say, Richard Adams is a tuba player.

The audience will join the evening with Richard’s participation segments, “You Can Be on a Talk Show” and “You Can Sound Like a Cat” contest.  Bring your best version of a cat call and win one of Richard’s exclusive bumper stickers.

Bill Martin, candidate for the defunct Coffee Party, will co-host and reveal his plans to resurrect Dooms Day event in 2013.

The Richard Adams Variety Show is at 7:30 at WTA’s Gateway.  Doors open at 7 pm.  Tickets are $9.99 in advance and $12 on the day of performance.  They may be purchased online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling the box office 540-943-9999.  Remaining tickets will be available on the night of the performance.
