Wayne Theatre Signature Speaker Series highlights dinosaurs, geology

wayne theatreDinosaur hunters, Shenandoah Valley geology and a science-based look at the jolliness of Santa Claus are among the topics for the Signature Speaker Series: Science Talks this fall at the Historic Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center in Waynesboro.

The first event in the series, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, features the findings of a team of dinosaur hunters from the Virginia Museum of Natural History from a recent expedition to West Virginia.

The Tuesday, Oct. 11 presentation features Dr. Jim Beard from the Virginia Museum of Natural History talking about Shenandoah Valley geology.

And then on Tuesday, Nov. 8, Joe Keiper, the executive director of the Virginia Museum of Natural History, gets serious with his talk titled, “Is Santa truly jolly? A science-based look at old St. Nick.”

All three events begin at 7 p.m.

Admission is pay what you will. No advance tickets are required.

The Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center is located at 521 West Main Street in downtown Waynesboro.
