RideShare Week features photo contest

newspaperOct. 14-18 marks the 10th annual RideShare Week, and RideShare of Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley is partnering with Dunkin’ Donuts to thank commuters for sharing the ride. Commuters that share the ride via carpool, vanpool, transit, biking, walking or even telework can win a $10 Dunkin Donuts gift certificate by sending a photo of their daily commute (or a picture of their home, yard or car not in use if a telecommuter.)
Photo Contest Rules—Everyone Wins!
•Email photos to [email protected] or post to the RideShare Facebook page atwww.facebook.com/rideshareinfo.
•Include a name and mailing address.
•If the ride is shared with others, include their contact info as well – RideShare will send a $10 Dunkin’ Donuts certificate to everyone in the pool!
(Photos may be used by RideShare for promotional purposes. Dunkin’ Donuts gift certificates will be sent to the first 100 participants.)
Dunkin Donuts Coffee for Carpools!
RideShare representatives will be greeting commuters at the Waynesboro and Lake Monticello Park & Ride lots during RideShare Week. Commuters meeting to carpool or vanpool will receive a RideShare travel mug filled with Dunkin Donuts coffee, and of course, donuts!
• Waynesboro Park & Ride (off Exit 94): 6:30 to 8:00 AM on Tuesday, October 15th
• Lake Monticello Park & Ride (at Jefferson Centre): 6:30 to 8:30 AM on Tuesday, October 17th
In addition to the coffee and donuts, RideShare will also have information about carpool matching andGuaranteed Ride Home program for commuters that carpool at least twice a week.
RideShare is a program of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission in cooperation with theCentral Shenandoah Planning District Commission, working to reduce traffic congestion and increase mobility throughout Central Virginia and the Central Shenandoah Valley. They offer free carpool andSchoolPool matching, vanpool coordination and a Guaranteed Ride Home program to provide free rides home in an emergency. RideShare also works with employers to develop and implement traffic reduction programs, and we market the region’s Park and Ride lots.
