Moran releases management plan

Chris Graham

Brian Moran is on board now with a plan for Virginia government. “Virginians have learned to trust their state government again thanks to the leadership of Mark Warner and Tim Kaine. I’m committed to ensuring Virginia remains the best managed state. We can’t remain the best by just standing still,” said Moran, a candidate for the 2009 Democratic Party gubernatorial nomination, unveiling today his “Efficient Virginia: A Bold Plan to Fight for Taxpayers.”

“I will bring my experience with state government and my drive to fight for taxpayers together, to ensure we remain the best-managed in the country. Families are struggling today all across the Commonwealth and they’re tightening the belt – so must government,” Moran said.

The plan includes the creation of an Innovation Task Force that would focus on results-based budgeting and mandate a performance audit of state government, the development of research and development labs to bring government, business and higher education together to come up with ways to improve government performance and a priority of implementing results-based state budgeting.
