Glucose testing provided at Staunton Senior Center

Chris Graham

sscOn Thursday, May 8, sixteen Staunton Senior Center members and one volunteer took advantage of annual spring glucose testing complements of Mr. George Savage, clinical assistant with Augusta Health Community Wellness.

George has also offered to bring the Dermiscan to the Center this summer so they members, staff, volunteers, and the community at large will be able to check for damage from the sun they may have acquired over the years. Hopefully this will encourage the regular use of sun screen. George stated that bone density scanning could be made available for SSC as well, so these screenings will likely be scheduled in the near future. Routine cholesterol screenings provided through Augusta Health will be available this coming fall.
