Breaking: CM Punk returning to Monday Night Raw

cmpunkSo was it a work all along? We may never know that, but we do know this, according to a report in the Wrestling Observer: CM Punk is coming back.

Punk, according to Dave Meltzer, will be back for Monday Night Raw in Chicago tomorrow night, as had been speculated for weeks.

Punk left the company on Jan. 27, a day after the Royal Rumble, for reasons that have been widely speculated on themselves, but never officially confirmed by Punk himself or WWE.

Punk’s WWE contract is up in July, and it has been assumed for months that the former WWE champ will not re-up once it does.

The strongest speculation about the reason for his departure in January was that he wasn’t happy with his planned match against Triple H at WrestleMania 30. Now it appears that Daniel Bryan will be booked into a program with Triple H, so if Punk does indeed return, it would be interesting to see who he would be paired with for ‘Mania.
