The popular musical group Gabby Haze returns to WTA’s Gateway on Saturday, April 5 with their mix of musical genres.  After their first appearance in December of 2011, the fans keep asking for them to return.  Now they return for a forth encore at the best listening room in the Valley.  The performance is scheduled for 8:00 pm at 329 West Main in Downtown Waynesboro.

Americana, Folk Rock, and Blues all come together when Gabby Haze mixes tight harmonies and an unusual assortment of instruments including autoharp, sax, flute, acoustic guitar, keyboard, drums, harmonica, congas, various percussion instruments and stand-up bass.  The result is a selection of original songs written by band members Dave Magnone and Dan Layman along with covers of The Beatles, John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, The Band, Bob Dylan, John Sebastian, Hootie Ledbetter, Steve Goodman and Hank Williams.  Unlike other groups that play covers, they do not try to sound like the original artists; they make the tunes in their own.

The six members of Gabby Haze include:

  • Dave Magnone, guitar and vocals
  • Dan Layman, autoharp and vocals
  • Carl Bailey, sax, flute, keyboard and vocals
  • Bill Yetzer, harmonica and percussion
  • Jerry Fretwell, double bass
  • Paul Cline, drums

Advance tickets for the Gabby Haze performance are $10 and are available online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling the box office (540-943-9999).  Remaining tickets will be available at the door on the evening of the performances for $12. WTA’s Gateway box office opens thirty minutes prior to the performance start time.  Seating is limited so advanced reservations are suggested.  The April 5th performance will start at 8:00 pm at WTA’s Gateway at 329 W. Main St. Downtown Waynesboro, Va.
