Four-run seventh lifts Houston past Baltimore

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesUbaldo Jimenez ran out of gas, and Houston took advantage in a four-run seventh to take down Baltimore, 5-2, Monday night.

Jimenez had given up just a run on three hits in six innings before giving up a seventh-inning leadoff single to Chris Carter. Despite having thrown just 91 pitches on the night, Orioles manager Buck Showalter lifted Jimenez for Brad Brach (3-1), who walked Luis Valbuena and gave up a single to Hank Conga to load the bases.

Brach struck out Marwin Gonzalez for the first out of the inning, before a George Springer RBI single tied the game at 2-2.

A Jose Altueve sacrifice fly gave Houston the lead at 3-2, and after a walk to Preston Tucker, Brach was lifted for Tommy Hunter, who gave up a two-run single to Evan Gattis that made it 5-2 Houston.

The Orioles went down 1-2-3 in the eighth and ninth innings, with Luke Gregerson closing out his 14th save.

Will Harris (2-0) got the win for Houston with an inning and two-thirds of scoreless relief.
