The Waynesboro Democratic Committee will host a discussion on Monday on plastic after hearing from many concerned citizens about the change in recycling options in Waynesboro.
Guest speakers include Barbara Brothers, a representative from Shenandoah Green, a sustainability group based in Staunton, and Jennifer Lewis, elected member of the Headwaters Soil and Water Conservation Board and water monitorer.
Discussion topics will include communicating with businesses about cutting back on plastic packaging and plastic take out containers, changing our habits, looking for products to buy that are more eco-friendly and ways to communicate with our elected officials.
The discussion will be held at the Democratic Headquarters in Willow Oak Plaza beginning at 6pm. This discussion is free, family friendly and open to everyone, regardless of party affiliation.
