The northbound Interstate 81 off-ramp to Route 11 at exit 251 (Harrisonburg) in Rockingham County is scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, through 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20. This closure is for soil and pavement testing.
Northbound I-81 motorists who need to access Route 11 at exit 251 will detour north on the interstate to exit 257 (Mauzy/Broadway/Timberville). Drivers will use this interchange to turn around and head south on I-81 to return to exit 251.
Virginia State Police will enforce the off-ramp closure. Variable message boards will advise motorists of the closure and detour route.
All work is weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, this closure will be postponed to the night of December 20-21.
