Staunton Senior Center Local Council Met July 11

The Staunton Senior Center Local Council held a special meeting on July 11 to discuss the fiscal year 2013-2014 budget.

Members choose several ideas for fundraising including a special event to be determined, perhaps a travel auction or a mystery dinner; personal requests for Meals on Wheels support from member friends and colleagues, and their churches; a personal or written appeal to local civic groups; and paid memberships to the Staunton Senior Center.

Also, it was suggested that since the budget was still not balanced at the end of the meeting that if cuts were needed, it should not be an entire line item, but “by percentages” of numerous line items.
