The Sierra Club Virginia chapter published its annual Virginia General Assembly Climate and Energy Scorecard today.
The scorecard grades the Commonwealth’s state-level elected officials on their votes during the 2016 General Assembly Session on legislation that will have a direct impact on Virginia’s energy policy and strategy to fight climate change.
16 of 40 senators and 34 of 100 delegates received a score of 80% or better on the 2016 Scorecard, reflected in their ‘A+,’ ‘A,’ and ‘B’ grades.
Twelve senators scored a perfect 100% and A+ grade, including Sen. Alexander (D-5), Sen. Deeds (D-25), Sen. Ebbin (D-30), Sen. Favola (D-31), Sen. Howell (D-32), Sen. Locke (D-2), Sen. Marsden (D-37), Sen. McEachin (D-9), Sen. McPike (D-29), Sen. Miller (D-1), Sen. Surovell (D-36), and Sen. Wexton (D-33). Sen. Miller passed away in April.
Twenty-four delegates scored a perfect 100%, including Del. Bagby (D-74), Del. John Bell (D-87), Del. Boysko (D-86), Del. Bulova (D-37), Del. Carr (D-69), Del. Filler-Corn (D-41), Del. Herring (D-46), Del. Hope (D-47), Del. Kory (D-38), Del. Krizek (D-44), Del. Levine (D-45), Del. Lopez (D-49), Del. Mason (D-93), Del. McClellan (D-71), Del. McQuinn (D-70), Del. Murphy (D-34), Del. Plum (D-36), Del. Price (D-95), Del. Sickles (D-43), Del. Spruill (D-77), Del. Sullivan (D-48), Del. Toscano (D-57), Del. Tyler (D-75), and Del. Ward (D-92).
