Chris Graham

Augusta Health Lifetime Fitness has been named MFA Certified Facility of the Year 2011 by the Medical Fitness Association.  The award was presented during the MFA annual conference in Orlando, Fla.  In 2011, Lifetime Fitness became the first facility in the nation to score a perfect 100 during the certification process.

The award recognizes the best in medical fitness centers in promoting community health and wellness. As a medical fitness facility, Lifetime Fitness offers a highly qualified and credentialed staff—including physicians, therapists, certified personal trainers and exercise physiologists—who work with members to promote wellness and prevent or treat chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.

“We appreciate this achievement because it recognizes our vision of improving the health and wellness of our members and community,” says Eric Good, director of Lifetime Fitness.  “We’ve always believed the teamwork among our staff and programming available at Lifetime Fitness are excellent, and now the MFA has confirmed that.  We all believe Lifetime Fitness if more than just as a place to work out; it’s a place to work on and improve your health and quality of life.”

The MFA, a nonprofit organization founded in 1991, is a professional association dedicated to the medical fitness difference of integrated care as the prescription for better health.  MFA serves facilities and professionals who are committed to promoting the benefits of health and fitness programs on lifestyle-related disease and make medical fitness programs and services available within their communities.

Augusta Health is an independent, nonprofit community hospital with a mission to promote the health and well-being of our community through access to excellent care.
