Del. Steve Landes, R-Weyers Cave, will be making three stops to announce his plans for the 2009 General Election for the House of Delegates on Saturday, May 23. Landes will be traveling to three different locations to kick off his campaign.

The first announcement will be at 9:30 a.m. at the King Family Vineyards, 6550 Roseland Farm, in Crozet, where Landes will highlight the local wine industry. The second announcement will be at 11:15 a.m. at the Waynesboro Heritage Museum, 420 West Main Street, in Waynesboro, to talk about the role museums, as well as performing and fine arts centers, play in continuing to attract tourists to the Valley which helps stimulate the economy.

The final announcement will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Cub Run Dairy, owned and operated by Gerald Heatwole, 3943 Lawyer Road, in McGaheysville.

Landes will face a Democratic Party opponent in November for the first time since his initial run in the 25th District in 1995. McGaheysville optometrist Greg Marrow and Mount Sidney facility planner Jim Noel are competing for the nomination in a June 9 party primary.
