Barack Obama held a fundraiser in Beverly Hills Sept. 16 at the Beverly Hills Wilshire Hotel. The man fighting for the working class hosted a $28,500-per-plate dinner for approximately 250 average Americans at the Greystone Mansion. Guests then handed over another $2,500 to hear Barbara Streisand croon. A record 700 everyday average Americans, i.e. Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg, were expected to attend the concert.
The rest of us working-class stiffs (who could not afford to attend nor were even invited) are left to heed the guests’ elitist instructions on how to live our lives and how Barack Obama somehow is the ultimate solution to our problems (banking on the proven authority of the likes of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan). Babs herself, owner of a 10,000-square-foot mansion, has said, “We must make concrete changes in our lifestyles to help solve this energy crisis … try to line dry [clothes] … only run your dishwasher when it is fully loaded …”
Unable to identify with middle-class Americans, Obama’s loyalties lie squarely with the elitist left. “Change we can believe in” is merely codeword for “pocket change we can dig in.” Rather than meet with real, struggling American families, Obama chose to party with elitists that “struggle” more with whether or not to fire their personal chef or gardener, than how they are going to pay their mortgage.
How does $28,500 a ticket compare to middle class Americans?
– One ticket to Obama’s fundraiser for one night is $5,000 more than an entire year of public college for the average American student.
– One ticket to Obama’s fundraiser for one night is $10K more than the average American pays for their mortgage a year.
– One ticket to Obama’s fundraiser for one night is $17K more than an average American pays in rent a year.
– One ticket to Obama’s fundraiser for one night is $17K more than the American family pays for childcare for a child of 4 years old or more per year.
– One ticket to Obama’s fundraiser for one night is almost three times what the average American family paid to feed their family in 2007.
– One ticket to Obama’s fundraiser for one night is nine times what the average American paid in gas for the year of 2007.
The cost of the Obama fundraiser is pocket change to his beloved supporters. The only “change” we regular Americans can believe in is whatever we find under the cushions of our couches, hide under our mattresses and hope that Obama and a Democrat Congress do not get their hands on.
