Augusta County appoints interim county attorney

augusta countyThe Augusta County Board of Supervisors announced the selection of James R. Benkahla as the interim county attorney.

As county attorney, Benkahla serves as the principal legal advisor to the Board of Supervisors and county administrator. In addition to supervising the activities of the county attorney’s office, Benkahla will provide legal support for the Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, and the Economic Development Authority.

Benkahla most recently served as legal counsel for Spotsylvania County for ten years.

Benkahla will replace Patrick Morgan who retired this past month. Benkahla will begin his duties on August 1, 2016.
