festival of the bookThe Virginia Festival of the Book announces it is now accepting submissions for participation. Authors with a new book published in 2015 or early 2016 are encouraged to submit their books for consideration.

Program proposals are also being accepted. In March 2015 the Festival partnered with more than 135 community organizations who helped develop, host, promote, and sponsor programs. Specific guidelines for participants and programs can be found at VaBook.org.

The 22nd annual Virginia Festival of the Book will be held March 16-20, 2016 at more than fifty locations throughout Charlottesville and Albemarle County. The Book Festival has become a spring tradition in Central Virginia, with a cumulative audience of more than 20,000 attendees each year for the past twelve years. Announcements of additional events and authors for the March 2016 Festival can be seen in coming months at VaBook.org.

The Festival is produced by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities (VFH), Virginia’s state humanities council and an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and presented by The Virginia Center for the Book, an affiliate of the Library of Congress Center for the Book.
