Overnight single lane closures are scheduled over the next several weeks along Interstate 81 in Rockbridge and Augusta counties.
These lane closures are for bridge maintenance in three different locations as follows:
- Near mile marker 205 in Rockbridge County, single lane closures take place seven nights a week from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. They affect northbound and southbound traffic at the bridge over Route 606 (Raphine Road). Bridge work at this location began this week and should be completed July 22.
- Near mile marker 210 in Augusta County, single lane closures take place seven nights a week from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. They affect northbound traffic at the bridge over Route 675 (Broadhead School Road). Bridge work at this location began this week and should be complete July 29.
- Near mile marker 217 in Augusta County, single lane closures take place Monday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.; Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.; and Sunday nights from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. They affect northbound and southbound traffic at the Route 655 (Walnut Hills Road) overpass. Bridge painting at this location begins July 11 and should be complete August 5.
All work is weather permitting.
