The Wayne Theatre Alliance and the Waynesboro YMCA will welcome spring to the Valley with a fun-packed three hours for children of all ages on Saturday, April 11. The White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter will open the gates to the Mad Hatter’s Easter Parade in Waynesboro’s Constitution Park at 11 am. For the next three hours, the park will be the place for live entertainment, pony rides, crafts, a parade and an Easter egg hunt. Free balloons will be provided by Kids & Sew On.

At 11 a.m. the Mad Hatter’s guests can make hats for the Easter parade, get their face painted by local artists and have their picture taken with the White Rabbit. As an extra treat, Dixie Pony Rides will give buckaroos a chance to get in the saddle.

At 11:30 a.m. Steve the Magic Guy will perform his non-stop magic show. Every moment will be filled with whimsical antics that produce excitement and laughter in his audience. The special performance combines comedy, magic effects, trained birds and balloons in a joyous merry-making.

At 12:30 p.m. the Hamner Theatre will present The Porker Brothers III. Originally commissioned for Earth Day, the play is a retelling of the familiar 3 Little Pigs story from an environmental perspective, complete with song and dance. Join Loup (the French wolf) and Pico, Paco and Poco Porker as they learn to work together to combat Mr. E. Hazard. The Porker Brothers III is suitable for all ages.

At 1 p.m. the Mad Hatter will line up his parade and circle the grounds. Special certificates will be given to the most creative, most unusual, most colorful, most original, and most expressive hats made at the event. Special certificates will also be given to Marchers in the Mad Hatter’s Easter Parade who wear hats that they fashioned at home.

At 1:30 p.m. the White Rabbit will end the day with a hunt for his “special” eggs filled with treats. Children will be divided in to age appropriate groups for the hunt.
