Introducing … the Live AFP Editor Blog

AFP

Notes from the Press column by Chris Graham
[email protected]

I’m open to new ideas – literally.

I’ve been toying around with the idea of doing a live open-discussion blog for a few weeks now, and I think I’m finally ready to go through with scheduling the first one.

Monday from 3-4 p.m., you can have your way with me, however you want it.

If I had my druthers, it would be a nice discussion of a variety of issues of the day, from local government to the 2008 elections to college football to the AFP coverage of a particular story to whatever else happens to come up.

I hope it doesn’t end up devolving into a virtual fistfight, but I can maintain some control over that by ferreting out comments that are personal in nature, directed at whoever might be a target for someone.

I don’t want to have to do much of that, because I’m a free-speech-lovin’ kind of guy. And I want this to be the kind of thing that we end up being able to do more of, maybe a few times a week, as demand for this kind of interaction dictates.

And I can expect that there will be demand as time goes on. If from no one else, me. I’m hoping that the interplay will give me ideas for topics that AFP readers want to see covered and approaches that you want us to take to keepin’ ’em honest, whoever the ’em that you want us to keep honest might be.

So that’s Monday from 3-4 p.m. Be gentle.
