A number of Safe Routes to School (SRTS) projects have been initiated or completed in the Shenandoah Valley region over the past year.
The Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission will be hosting one of the Safe Routes to School Workshops offered by the Virginia Department of Transportation on April 24 at Virginia Regional Transit, 51 Ivy Ridge Lane in Fishersville.
The City of Waynesboro has received a $409,700 Safe Routes To School grant to make safety improvements near four schools.
