This coming April 22 will mark the 44th annual celebration of Earth Day, and the focus this year will be green cities.
If you have any sense of wonder or faith in humanity, you would have to agree that Earth Day is an extraordinary event. It combines the functions of educator, movement builder and the largest public service project in the world. More than 1 billion people from almost every single country on earth will take an action in service to our planet.
April 20th, the Habitat ReStore will host a “Spring Cleaning” event from 8am-2pm. The event will highlight a special outdoor sidewalk area, where customers may purchase items by giving a donation. Meanwhile, we will be renovating the interior of the store with the help of Mary Baldwin College and James Madison University students. Light refreshments will be offered. All proceeds from the event will go toward building and repairing homes in our area.
