UVA study: Bystanders can help cardiac arrest victims survive
Roughly one in 12 people experiencing cardiac arrest outside a hospital live to tell the tale. A UVA Health physician says the numbers can improve dramatically if bystanders knew to recognize cardiac arrest and perform simple lifesaving tasks.
