Reserve Capt Kevin Quick 3Virginia State Police investigators have been tight-lipped about the death of Waynesboro Police Reserve Capt. Kevin Quick, but they are now confirming that the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Quick, 45, went missing on Jan. 31 while en route from his mother’s house in Nelson County to visit a friend in Albemarle County. His vehicle was found three days later abandoned in Louisa County, and his body was found on Feb. 6 in a remote area near the Goochland County-fluvanna county line.

Six individuals have been arrested on charges related to the investigation into Quick’s death, but no one has been charged with murder.

In a press release Wednesday morning, State Police confirmed that additional charges are still pending.

The cause of death has yet to be made public.
