Waynesboro Police investigating Grove Avenue break-in

policecar3The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that took place sometime between 1 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Grove Avenue.

There were signs of forced entry into the residence.  The preliminary investigation indicates that in excess of $10,000.00 of property was stolen from the house including home electronics, firearms, jewelry, cash and a hunting bow.

The police department believes that there were multiple offenders involved and may have had to use a vehicle like a small truck to transport the property.  Officers recovered physical evidence that will be sent to the Depart of Forensic Science for analysis.

Anyone with information in this incident is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 or Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at 1(800)322-2017.  Information given to Crime Stoppers may be given anonymously.  Callers with information that lead to an arrest in this case are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
