‘Radio Hour’ returns to Waynesboro Friday night

Chris Graham

The Blues Lady, Lorie Strother, and The Lady with the Latest, Olivia Rae Frock, will be headlining this month’s “River City Radio Hour” in Waynesboro.
The “Radio Hour,” a production of the Wayne Theatre Alliance, the Waynesboro Cultural Commission and Waynesboro Downtown Development Inc., will also feature the second episode in the running series The Return of the Maltese Falcon by Peter Coy.

The house band, as usual, will be The Boogie Kings – Richard Adams, William Hayes and J.T. Fauber.

Valley Framing Studio and Gallery owner Don Morris will be the featured downtown merchant of the month.

Strother’s appearance in the “Radio Hour” will be her second. She was also on the bill for the September show. Her accompanist is Dr. Stephen Levine.

Frock, aka Barbara Spilman Lawson, spends her days directing the choir at the All Faith Church of Propitious Believers and otherwise putting her finger on the pulse of the community.

The “River City Radio Hour” will offer two performances – at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. – at Blue Ridge Christian Fellowship at 329 W. Main St. in Downtown Waynesboro.
