newspaperWTA and the Hamner Theatre will hold a first reading of a new musical written by Boomie Pedersen and Richard Adams.

The reading of Mr. Fox will be held at Crozet Arts, 1408 Crozet Avenue, Suite 102 at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, May 27.  The event is open to the public at no charge.

The project was underwritten by the Virginia Commission for the Arts through a grant to the Wayne Theatre Alliance.  The book was created and written by Boomie Pedersen, Artistic Director of the Earl Hamner Jr. Theatre.  The music is by Richard Adams who has composed four musicals based on events related to Central Virginia and is a regular on WTA’s River City Radio Hour.

Mr. Fox: A Blue Ridge Christmas Carole is the story of how the heart changes when the Spirit of Christmas comes to shed its warmth on those most in need.   The goal of the project is to create an annual holiday offering that captures the season and the culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  “We hope this musical will join Shenandoah Moon as hallmarks of the entertainment offered in the restored Wayne Theatre auditorium at the Ross Center for the Performing Arts.” says Clair Myers, Executive Director of the Wayne Theatre Alliance.
