As the LEGO Group prepares to open its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Chesterfield County, it is building buzz in partnership with the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in Richmond.

The Traveling Bricks exhibit opens Saturday and features more than 100 models of land, air, sea and space vehicles constructed from nearly 1 million LEGOs – one brick at a time.

The transportation exhibit includes a 23.5-foot-long Titanic replica, a 10-foot-tall skyrocket, a 6.5-foot-long Boeing 747 and more than 100 other model vehicles.

“This exhibition brings together two beloved aspects of life — LEGO bricks and Virginia’s rich history — to create a captivating experience for guests of all ages,” said Jamie Bosket, president and CEO of the museum.

Guests are also invited to use their imagination to build their own creation with thousands of LEGO bricks available.

The exhibit is on display though Jan. 5.

LEGO broke ground on its 1.7-million square-foot factory on April 13, 2023. The $1 billion investment will create more than 1,700 jobs over the next decade.

VMHC is located at 428 N. Arthur Ashe Boulevard in Richmond.
