LGBTQ rights stripped away in Trump’s America

President Donald Trump has been on a crusade to strip away fundamental rights and freedoms from those who identify as LGBTQ since he took office in January.

Among his actions, he has signed an executive order banning trans troops from serving in the military and made moves to shut down the suicide helpline for LGBTQ youth. Under his admin, the government will now only recognize two sexes: male and female, including on passports, removing the X, or other option.

During his campaign, Trump and other Republican candidates targeted transgender people with attack ads making outrageous claims that schools were performing gender surgeries on children.

Many of the president’s executive orders related to the LGBTQ community are being challenged in court.
