Waynesboro Police report another rash of business burglaries

policecar3Waynesboro Police released details on another rash of business burglaries reported on Monday and early Tuesday.

Sometime between 6 and 6:30 Monday morning, unknown assailant(s) forced entry into Coin Laundry and Sago Antiques, both located at 990 Hopeman Parkway. The assailants entered by smashing the glass door to the laundromat.  They forced open a filing cabinet in the business’ office but got no cash.  The same means was used to enter Sago Antiques where $20 in cash was taken from the register.  Damage to the doors is estimated at $300 each.

Witnesses reported seeing a red moped and white Chevrolet Malibu or Impala on the parking lot between the times indicated above.  However, there are no suspect descriptions.

Another business burglary was reported at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Sometime between midnight and 7:30 a.m., unknown assailant(s) shattered the front glass door of Rudy’s Dry Cleaners, 115 Lucy Lane.  The assailant(s) stole the business’ cash register that had a small amount of money inside.  Damage is estimated at $500.

Anyone with information in these incidents is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 or Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at 1(800)322-2017. Information given to Crime Stoppers may be given anonymously.  Callers with information that lead to an arrest in this case are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
