Red Sox beat up Miley, Orioles

Chris Graham

baltimore oriolesThe Wade Miley trade-deadline deal continues to vex as the lefty was carpet-bombed once again, this time in a 12-2 Baltimore Orioles loss to the Boston Red Sox Monday night.

Miley (8-13, 5.80 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) gave up six runs on eight hits in an inning and a third, and it was basically over from there.

Hanley Ramirez (24), Chris Young (9) and David Ortiz (33) each homered for the Red Sox (81-62).

Chris Davis (37) and Manny Machado (35) each hit solo homers for the O’s (78-65), who are three games back of Boston in the AL East, and a game and a half up on Detroit in the race for the second AL wild-card spot.
