Baltimore whitewashes Tigers, 1-0

Adam Jones homered, and Chris Tillman and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout in a 1-0 Baltimore win over Detroit Friday night.

Tillman (5-1, 2.58 ERA) gave up five hits in seven scoreless innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Zach Britton put in a 1-2-3 ninth for his 10th save.

Jones provided the offense with a solo homer in the sixth, his fourth of the season and third of the week.

Jones was 2-for-3 on the night for the O’s (22-12), who have now won six in a row.
