Atlantic Builders, an award-winning regional homebuilder, announced a historic $1 million donation to charitable organizations across Fredericksburg and Charlottesville.
The donations are part of homebuilder’s annual “Give Back Home” program. The record-breaking contribution marks the largest-ever single donation by a local homebuilder, nearly doubling last year’s $550,000 milestone. The timing is significant as the historic investment comes on the heels of the homebuilder’s introduction of Southwood in Charlottesville, developed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
“The Give Back Home program represents the heart of who we are as a company — building not just homes, but a stronger community. This achievement wouldn’t be possible without the incredible generosity of our trade partners, suppliers, and team members who help bring this vision to life each year,” said Atlantic Builders CEO Adam Fried.
The 2024 “Give Back Home” initiative was made possible through the contributions of Atlantic Builders’ trusted trade partners and suppliers, which provided discounted or donated materials and labor. The donation for 2025’s chosen Give Back Home was the Bridgewater model, built in the Franklin Farm neighborhood of Stafford County.

Congratulations on nine years of financial assistance to an impressive list of nonprofit organizations, and thanks for surpassing the $1 million mark in your annual donation total. I appreciate the mission that you strive to meet, building lasting relationships – you’re living up to that [mission] in the Fredericksburg and Charlottesville communities, two really important parts of our Commonwealth, where the construction and building trade industries help make up the very backbone of a strong economy,” U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine said at a celebratory event held January 22.
Proceeds from the 2024 Give Back Home will benefit more than 12 organizations, with donations ranging from $1,000 to more than $100,000.
As Atlantic Builders grows in the Charlottesville and Waynesboro regions, the donation will benefit local organizations, including the Waynesboro YMCA and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville. Other organizations that will benefit are: 516Project, Beauty for Ashes, Big Brothers Big Sisters, FAB Foundation, Fredericksburg Christian Health Center, Germanna Community College, Jeremiah Community, Leashes of Valor in Fredericksburg, Loisann’s Hope House, Oberle Academy, Rappahannock Goodwill Industries and Rappahannock United Way.
“This donation has a ripple effect across our community, empowering nonprofits like ours to serve more families in need,” Steve Cox, president and CEO of Rappahannock Goodwill Industries, said.
In addition, $200,000 from the proceeds will be allocated to the Atlantic Builders Giving Fund, which provides grants and smaller donations to community organizations throughout the year.
Atlantic Builders, headquartered in Fredericksburg, is an award-winning, privately owned regional builder that has delivered thousands of brand-new homes in the Fredericksburg area for more than 25 years and is now building in the Charlottesville and Augusta County area as well.
