Hanover County: Tractor trailer driver sought in fatal hit-and-run incident

Virginia State Police is asking for help in a fatal hit-and-run investigation involving a tractor trailer in Hanover County Friday night.

Troopers are actively working to identify the deceased and notify the next of kin.

The incident occurred at 9:48 p.m. near a TA truck stop in the Town of Ashland.

Investigators have identified a vehicle of interest in the fatal incident: a newer model Freightliner tractor trailer, possibly displaying a red decal on the cab.

The investigation remains ongoing. More information will be released when available.
