School bus accident in Waynesboro: No injuries reported

An Augusta County school bus was involved in an accident on Rosser Avenue in Waynesboro Tuesday morning. There were no injuries reported in the 8:47 a.m. accident involving the bus and a Toyota pickup.

The driver of the Toyota, Kathryn A. Baxter, 55, of Mount Solon, has been charged with failure to obey a traffic signal.

The bus was pulling out of Ladd Elementary School onto Rosser when it was struck by Baxter’s Toyota. Waynesboro Police say Baxter had failed to stop for the red traffic light.

Pursuant to school policy all students on the bus were checked by rescue personnel.

The incident caused approximately $4,250 damage to the School Bus and $5,000 damage to the pickup.
