WVPT preps for annual Kids’ Book Festival

afp_wvptThe 9th Annual wvpt Kids’ Book Festival comes to The John Paul Jones Arena Sunday, September 28th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This free family event promotes childhood literacy, health, and safety through free book giveaways and fun informational activities. This year’s event features an added focus on health and safety to complement the Festival’s existing literacy program. The wvpt Kids’ Book Festival is a premiere Charlottesville family event, with over 40,000 attendees and distributing more than 50,000 books to young readers over the past several years.

wvpt Kids’ Book Festival includes literacy, health and safety information delivered through engaging demonstrations and activities, as well as free snacks and family entertainment. Families that attend the Festival will be treated to a visit from the popular pbs children’s programming character “Clifford the Big Red Dog” and Cubby the wvpt Bear, both of whom will be available for photo opportunities. Festival attendees will also be able to play in The wvpt Greenscreen Adventure Studio, a fun production setup that lets kids see themselves on TV using green screen TV magic.

As part of the Festival’s mission to promote childhood literacy, every child in attendance will receive two free books, both a new and “gently used” book.

The University of Virginia Children’s Hospital is the principal sponsor of the 2014 Kids’ Book Festival. With the invaluable support of sponsors and the surrounding community, this year’s Festival promises to be bigger than ever.

Glenn Youngkin desperately wants a job in the Trump regime, for a reason that I can’t put my finger on: Youngkin has a net worth of $400 million, most of that his equity in the ghastly private-equity firm he led before he ran for governor in 2021.
